This book is a unique attempt to bring to light the status of environmental legal systems in Portuguese speakiing countries across Africa and Brazil, presenting a platform for future South-South collaboration. The different articles present environmental legal frameworks of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, and São Tomé and Principe, and focus on national legislative processes in the context of environmental concerns. The book also includes an article on the role of the legislative branch in the protection of the environment in Cape Verde, written by the current President of Cape Verde's Parliament.
