The environmental impact of the 1991-92 drought on Zambia
This report makes a positive contribution toward informing governments, agencies and NGOs of actions that need to be taken to reduce significantly the adverse conditions of future droughts. It suggests some immediate measures to consolidate and expand existing positive policy and local-level responses which resulted from the drought experience, By showing how to minimise damage and enhance benefits, this study makes an important contribution toward assisting all interested parties in the long journey toward achieving sustainability in sub-Saharan Africa.
