Legal measures for the conservation of marine mammals

Legal measures for the conservation of marine mammals

Originally intended as a series of papers, the only entry in this loose-leaf collection – Legal measures for the Prevention of “Pirate” Whaling – investigates the legal aspects of the problem of “pirate” whaling, i.e. whaling by States that are not party to the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling, 1946. It analyses a variety of legal measures available in both national and international law which might be used to prevent and deter so-called “pirate” whaling, and arrives at a series of recommendations for improving control mechanisms at both international and national level.
